n/w collective (working title)
Contemporary art curator and editor Vera Kavaleuskaya, electronic musician and programmer Eugene Markin, researcher and visual artist Sasha Smirnova form an artist collective, focusing their work on the intricate relationship between new technologies, collective subjectivity and everyday life in the near future and now. The collective works with digital and time-based media, participatory art and language, engaging with the topics in question in both physical and virtual space.

‘new haven’ was commissioned for Suoja festival-laboratory in Vapaan Taiten Tila, taking place in Helsinki in June, and was also exhibited in August at Drone Dancing social art event in Färgfabriken, Stockholm, and in December at Haimney gallery, Barcelona.

Golden Apple Ltd. is a speculative startup existing in the near future, where aging becomes no longer an option under the constraint of neoliberal ideology. By speculating on the topic of eternal youthhood as ideological tool artists bring up discussion around medicalization, anti-aging treatments and social inequality, consumer culture and new mutations of capitalism.

More than Ever (It Seems True to Say)
artistic intervention / crowdsourced online performance
More than Ever is created within the framework of Radical Relevances conference, which was addressing climate change, biodiversity, income inequality, and mass migration. More than Ever was conceived as an online collage combining video, streaming from webcam, and a document available for editing to the participants of the conference. For 3 days it occupied a screen in Aalto School of Business foyer, situated 11 km from the conference site, and temporarily replaced live real-time stock market quotes.
